Tutorial: origami box with lid

Recently I found the perfect piece of jewellery for a friend of mine at a table top sale - problem was that I felt a bit cheap giving it in a small plastic bag!  This tutorial allows you to take any paper and turn it into a gift box with a lid.  the size of the box you end up with depends on the size of the paper you start off with, simples!

Tutorial:Origami Gift Bag for Kids parties

These days I don't get to do little kids parties more is the pity but as part of the PTFA at my kids primary school over the last year we have had a few activities were we have needed small bags that were not Disney and a little more grown up.  This tutorial allows you to take any paper and turn it into a little bag for say a handful of sweets.  you can use gift wrap, paper printed with images from the web, scrapbook paper even paper decorated with original artwork from you little ones to make it really personal.

Tutorial: How to make an eight page mini book from a single piece of paper

Here is the tutorial

Works brilliantly and as B is now into writing (finally) we now have hundreds filled with scribbles thus saving me a fortune on notepads, and of course I'm more likely to have a spare piece of paper than a pad so its more convenient for when he suddenly decides he wants to do it too.

Tutorial: Denim rosettes

Proving that nothing should ever be thrown away click here for how to create these rosettes from a hem plus a little extra fabric.

The tutorial shows them made into a brooch but would also work for a headband or clip or as a decoration on something like a bag.

Free Video Tutorial: Korker or corkscrew Bow

In the quest for more bows to sell I across these crazy looking things:
Although they look like some kind of weird wig they are actually only about 3 inches across and attached to a hair clip.

Here's the entire vid on how to make them.

I was sceptical - you have to BAKE the ribbon before you make the bow - what? How is that ever going to work? T also though I was completely mad. (No change ther then...)
But here is what I ended up with, perfect korker ribbon.

R and I will get the chance to make some more and finish the bows this afternoon I hope as they require no sewing or hot glue gun until you attach the clip.

Free Video Tutorial: wavy bow

Made from the instructions here  I sold several of these attached to both headbands and hair clips.  The start of the video gives instructions for a variety of widths of ribbon - I used a wired gift ribbon with the wire removed from the side that forms the centre of the rosette and it worked really well.
