Handmade Hairbands: Surround-a-bow flower

This little number joined the stock on the craft stall that my daughter and I run every year at the village fair.  Made from 1 cm wide ribbon, which is the most widely available and cheapest you can get, it is an easy to make no sew bow which could look good on both little girls and big ones as it is not too "princessy".

Free Video Tutorial: wavy bow

Made from the instructions here  I sold several of these attached to both headbands and hair clips.  The start of the video gives instructions for a variety of widths of ribbon - I used a wired gift ribbon with the wire removed from the side that forms the centre of the rosette and it worked really well.

Loopy Ribbon Flower Headband/Hairclip

I made and sold over half a dozen of these headbands at the recent Christmas Market at my kids school - in fact it was the single biggest seller design-wise and  I now several on order in a variety of colours! Of course the flower itself could also be attached to a hairclip or comb or badge.  If you would like to make your own follow this link to a YouTube vid to make one with 8 petals.
